A deliberate shock of white is what tends to make the Bemmel Residence an architectural stand-out. Developed collaboratively by Maxim Winkelaar and Bob Ronday, this modern day dream home in the Netherlands exudes minimalism at its finest.
Constructed as a rectangular type, the two-story dwelling encompasses an open living strategy with walls of windows framing the landscape superbly. Rich slate floors flow from a single region to the subsequent, which are a striking contrast to the white walls, ceilings and stairwell. A reddish-wood cantilevered staircase greets at the home’s entrance which is dappled with a handful of colorful paintings and exotic artifacts.
The living room is layered with texture and creamy natural hues of chocolate, mocha and almond-white. A dual-sided gas fireplace nestles into a floating white partition subtly dividing the relaxation from culinary zones. Marigold accent pillows and a side chair allude to the exact same pop of color offered in the leather-wrapped dining chairs. Set against against a rustic wood table, the look is crisp and fitting for a modern kitchen space.
The kitchen itself is completely built-in, slicks of white cabinetry evoking a somewhat futuristic vibe. A wall of opaque glass is extraordinary, glowing with non-stop rays of white light. A center island homes the cooktop and features smoky acrylic and chrome stools.
The master bath entrances with a ceiling randomly dotted with bright miniature recessed lights. The impact, when reflected in the glossy white and glazed surfaces, resembles a cosmic sky–so divine! A hovering pure white vanity sits across the black-and-white glass tiled wall which wraps the square tub. And, of course, no modern day luxury property would be full without an ensuite sauna.
A massive glass-topped terrace is far more akin to an extension of the living regions with a panel of sliding glass doors virtually encompassing the entire back wall. A pebbled perimeter about the side of the property expands from this contemporary structure to the dark concrete patio which consists of a reflective swimming pool. The dark mirrored “glass” surface is basically striking against the stark white exterior palette.
The Bemmel Residence is a minimalist dream home, a magnificent white oasis flowing with purity and elegance.
