“It is an interesting object, even without garments. It does not want to hide in the closet,” says Finnish designer Lassi Alestalo, who presented one particular of the numerous revolutionary prototypes we got to see last week in the course of Helsinki Style Week. Hang Around is a suspended metal device that performs as very easily for displaying garments as it does for exhibiting accessories and other personal items—and represents Alestalo’s mission of imbuing an object of pure functionality with the purest of geometric types.
