George & Delilah opted for a cowboy-themed e-session that was captured by Open Image Photography at the Reefsteamers depot. The couple got married yesterday, 22 September 2013, at Oakfield Farm in Muldersdrift.
How did you meet?
George and I went to go to school together, we noticed each other but we were not in the same social circles. George was a ruby player and I was more into academics {the nerd}. We never exchange names or conversation untill we re-united on Facebook 10 years later. After 3 months of persuasion and sweet talk, we went on our first date – I’m so glad we did. Now, 2 years later we are getting married!
How was the question popped?
George was trying to ‘test the waters’; to see whether I was ready to marry him – I wasn’t ready, more stubborn then anything – Then I realized I made a horrible mistake and regretted it. I dropped hints pushing him gently to propose. He didn’t for a while…
Then, he took me away for a weekend to still point, I was oblivious to what he was planning. George arranged for the staff to prepare a dinner for just the two of us under the stars with a candle lit dinner. No words can really explain how perfect this evening was rose petals, wine, music, good food, away from everyone and everything. He went down on his one knee put the lovilee ring on my finger and asked me to marry him – My answer was “Yes, please”!
How did you decide on the theme for your engagement shoot?
The first time he met my friends was at Gold Reef City. Where we decided to do the “wanted shoot” they offer – we really just wanted to relive the experience and that was very sentimental for us. That day symbolized us getting way out of our comfort zone of courting. The experience allowed us to be silly and enjoy each other’s company completely.
