French architectural firm Loïc Picquet Architecte completed work on the restoration and decoration of an old property in the city of St. Louis, in the Alsace area of eastern France. In the back of the house the architects envisioned a small outbuilding, called Extension C. This uncommon “protuberance” became a continuation of the kitchen it is right here that the dining area was placed. A particular glass wall opens the addition towards the garden, creating this the most spectacular corner of the residence.
Just like with a common wall, the architects integrated a small frame within the design, resulting in an original “window-in-window” scheme. This is also the only operable segment of the glass. Component of the new addition -the one displaying a concrete finish- accommodates the stairs, which lead up to the primary living zones. It is nice to observe how the architects turned this tiny extension (a generally unimpressive architecture element) into the highlight of the developing.
