A house is about the way it makes you feel. It’s about safety, comfort, warmth and a specific type of atmosphere that distresses you and fills you with happiness and unmeasurable joy. We’ve bumped into this project, the Village Home situated in northern Sjælland, in Denmark. Definitely worth presenting it on Freshome! To begin with, the residence was made by Powerhouse Company as a vacation house. The area was very populated with ‘traditional’ Danish homes. To integrate the Village Home seamlessly into the landscape, visible traditional components were kept.
The group accountable with the project describes the Village House as: “A cluster of 5 wings. These fan out like a hand spreading 5 fingers over the web site, generating a range of views, light effects and outside areas. The variation signifies the house gives an enjoyable atmosphere all year round and at all occasions of day. For example, a huge window above the living room makes it possible for sunlight to bathe the dining table at around midday.” Inside, all walls are white, which might give you the feeling that the living atmosphere is a little bit sterile but this feeling disappears as quickly as you knowledge the entire décor: the textures, the colours, the organic materials and the modern decorations. Every space offers the very best views of the outside spaces. Photo credit: [Åke E. Son Lindman].
