Naramata Cabin is a rural contemporary dream residence, a lakeside retreat for a household and friends come summertime. The waterfront house views Lake Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada and was made by Robert Bailey.
The two-story dwelling is fairly humble from the street view, sitting as a composition of brown timber and stacked stone. It is only from the rear point of view, when this house reveals its correct, stunning self.
A seamless flow between inside and out is effortless as a result of the retractable glazing along the complete back wall. Living places convert effortlessly to the lush green lawn top to the sandy shores and private dock. A smooth-stone fire pit is nestled into the backyard, where family members and close friends can sit, overlooking the reflective lake.
This cabin retreat fosters flexible spaces for entertainment, lounging and just plain exciting. Other than the wealthy French Oak ceilings and flooring all through, other components utilized were standard, minimalist and refreshingly, to-the-point.
In the shared kitchen-dining-living hub, pale wood, all-natural stone and a fireplace clad in bolted iron balances the palette of smooth bright whites located in the custom cabinetry and furnishings. Mid-century modern day pieces, which includes the fabulous trio of white balloon pendants suspended more than the dining table, add punch. A dozen fixtures, what seem to be upside-down cups, illuminate the complete ceiling belonging to the kitchen workspace generating for a cheery gathering spot.
The stairs are also wrapped in oak timber and climb to the second level with a mounted deer trophy greeting passersby. Sets of clerestory windows enable sunlight to cast angular displays across wall space. What is the centerpiece of this stairwell, even though, is the cascade of white paper-like pendants, gracefully falling from the ceiling and penetrating the void. Understated, yet spectacular.
Bathrooms are visions of modern-meets-earthy, some featuring wooden walls blended with sleek white basins and stainless appointments. Hovering double-sink vanities, huge soaking tubs and airy glass-walled showers appear much more like a chic spa setting than one particular within a lake property set in the middle of nature.
The master suite is layered with texture, with panels of windows providing endless views of the water and nearby mountains. Freeform glass lamps rest atop side tables, while a pair of cushy white contemporary chairs sit opposite the bed, dressed with linens sporting a tribal zig-zag pattern.
Portraying rustic elegance, Naramata Cabin is a modern waterfront dream house with organic, happy spaces.
