“Clouds and Dunes” oil painting by Janis H. Sanders
Floral arrangement designed by Gregory’s of Wakefield
Last night was the opening reception for Art in Bloom at the Lynnfield Library. This year, we had three professional florists who donated arrangements to the show. I will highlight their work over the new few days, and will then post photos of arrangements created by members of The Village Garden Club of Lynnfield on Friday, March 12th (including my own : )
This arrangement presented by Gregory’s, a fabulous shop in Wakefield, MA that features florals, botanicals and decorative items for home and garden, was breathtaking with its color blocked interpretation of Janis’s waterway image. I really loved the inclusion of wheat stalks for added texture. The burlap table topper was a nice organic complement to the square glass vases. Thanks, Gregory’s, for being part of the show!
FYI: Over the years, we have noticed that some of the more delicate flowers may not look their “Opening Night Best” by midweek as the library tends to be on the warm side. Periodically we arrangers will stop by to check on water levels (flowers get very thirsty during their performance!) and sometimes we even bring in replacement blossoms if they become spent. Tending to a flower show is truly a labor of love!
